English Touring Theatre (ETT) is England’s leading touring theatre company with over forty productions and eighteen major awards under their belt. At the heart of everything they do is a passionately held belief that quality theatre does not have to be elitist, and that people everywhere expect and deserve the best. With this ethos, English Touring Theatre have gained a reputation for work that is carefully conceived, crystal clear and respects the intelligence of its audience.
As a touring theatre company, English Touring Theatre have no permanent theatre residence. Therefore, it was decided that the internet would provide the perfect arena in which to setup a "virtual" home and create a primary marketing channel for the dissemination of ETT's information. As the existing website simply did not address this need, Online Solutions were approached and subsequently commissioned to design and develop a new website and Content Management System (CMS).
The new website provides visitors with a wealth of information including production details, in rehearsal shots, educational and marketing resources, reviews and a directors blog. The new site also offers visitors the ability to interact with ETT and have their own say by posting comments and reviews. Supported by a specifically designed content management system developed using a combination of PHP and My SQL technologies, the websites is quick and simple to update via a web browser, which for a company that is often "on the road", is an important consideration.
