Amordivino, or "love of wine", is a British limited company established in 2005 to foster and cater for a growing interest within the UK for Italian wines, by establishing relationships with numerous producers throughout Italy and importing and selling wines that had hitherto been unavailable to the general British public.
Essentially a start-up company, Amordivino approached Online Solutions to assist them in the various aspects of launching a new enterprise initiative. Online Solutions therefore began by creating a new brand identity for the company that was clean, stylish and professional and conveyed that all important air of Italian chic!
Having established the brand, Online Solutions embarked on a detailed Information Architecture (IA) process to create an overarching scheme for the organisation of the information and the functionality to be made available on the new website whilst taking into consideration usability, accessibility and most importantly customer satisfaction.
A full set of wireframes and designs were produced and agreed prior to development to ensure that the resulting website would appeal to its target audience and help establish Amordivino as a reputable and successful Italian wine distributor.
The website showcases an extensive wine list and features all of the usual secure and easy to use functionality that is expected of a professional e-commerce website. However, the website, very much like Italy itself, features numerous hidden treasures such as an extensive "learn about wine" section, Italian recipes, an easy-to-use vintage guide and an interactive food matching tool to help plan the perfect meal.
Additionally, the website offers visitors the chance to "Explore Italy" and find out more about each of the Italian regions, such as regional history and places of interest as well as detailed information on each of the producers whose wines are featured on the website. The website has since proved a huge success and has firmly established Amordivino as a reputable and highly successful Italian wine distributor.
