A fully responsive website for Redrow detailing their Government bid for the regeneration of Wandsworth Council’s Alton Estate.

Website
architecture

The site and underlying modular Content Management System (CMS) was specifically architected to both showcase existing marketing content and assets whilst also providing a flexible scaffolding framework that would support the evolutionary nature of the project

Project details

Working alongside the project stakeholders at Redrow, the OS team set about architecting a prototype wireframe version of a future website which would support Redrow’s bid for the regeneration of Wandsworth Council’s Alton Estate. It quickly became apparent that the site architecture and supporting Content Management System (CMS) would need to adopt a duplicitous nature to accommodate for the dissemination of information during both the initial regeneration bid as well as fully support the project going forwards throughout construction.

Our solution was to recommend a technologically agnostic site structure; one that would be flexible enough to dynamically adapt and scale alongside the project facilitated by an easy to use content administration system that would provide Redrow with the ability to repurpose and expand upon existing content overtime.

Having established the digital strategy, the prototype wireframes were created to map the key user journeys of the target audiences and outline the architecture of the website information, call to action points and key signposting. Using the prototype wireframes as an architectural set of plans, the OS team worked with Redrow to breathe life into the solution establishing a visual design that could grow over time and provide Redrow with an inspirational storytelling platform for the Alton Green regeneration project. Following the creative design phase, the technical foundations of the website were established (using a combination of Laravel, PHP and mySQL technologies) and the build of both the front-end and supporting Content Management System (CMS) commenced.

The OS team worked closely with both the creative team and the client throughout the website build process ensuring that the resulting solution would deliver real value for the client. A fully collaborative approach also helps steer the crafting of website content from an early stage, thereby ensuring that structure and functionality can work symbiotically with the tone and content. A nominated number of individuals at Redrow we’re fully trained in all aspects of managing the system, for which no prior technical knowledge was required and since going live, the day-to-day administration of the website has been fully autonomous requiring no additional maintenance or technical input from the OS team.

Rich content
publication

The website provides Alton Green with the ability to tell their evolutionary story through the use of rich full bleed imagery, personable statements, scene setting videos, takeaway documentation and 360 degree visualisations

Content Management System

The OS team architected, designed and developed a fully self-sufficient administrable system specifically tailored to the clients’ short and long-term needs. By adopting a flexible modular approach to the system structure, the resulting Content Management System can adapt to the ever changing needs of the project and support the regeneration project throughout its lifecycle
