Project details
Simpson’s in the Strand, established in 1828 and a firm favourite dining establishment of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, began a major, but reverent restoration programme in 2018. As a vital part of that evolution The Savoy required the new online presence to cement their reputation as an essential London food destination and Online Solutions were brought on board to facilitate the new vision.
Working closely alongside the project stake holders at the Savoy, the OS team set about architecting a prototype wireframe of the proposed website specifically designed to provide a perfect conduit for a newly commissioned suite of photography and to showcase the beautiful food, drink and refurbished interior.
The website features menus and galleries, latest news and events, all of which are administrable via a simple and intuitive bespoke Content Management System (CMS) designed and built by OS developers. The Simpson’s in the Strand website was also integrated seamlessly with OpenTable (a third party booking system) so that reservations could be made directly through the website instilling confidence in the consumer that their reservation was being booked directly with the restaurant.
The site launched alongside their refreshed brand and refurbishment and, as a result, in the first two weeks of launching their new digital presence, the website received just under 5,000 unique visits.
