Project details

Collaborating closely with our branding and communications associates at Columns, as well as the project stakeholders from the Global CCS Institute, the OS team embarked on designing a wireframe prototype for the proposed website. This site was intended to host their annual report on global carbon capture and storage.

Emphasising a user-friendly design, the OS website architect prioritised developing a layout that would effectively highlight the key findings of the report. Simultaneously, the design aimed to consistently promote the downloadable PDF version of the report. This PDF provided comprehensive details, enabling visitors to conveniently access, take away, and peruse the more intricate data and visualisations at their convenience.

The microsite was meticulously designed to maximize internet efficiency, ensuring swift and straightforward access to readily available data. Content was methodically structured and categorized to align with the principal themes of this year's report. We developed online wireframes with a technology-neutral approach, allowing us to achieve the most effective layout without constraints. This framework was then integrated into an aesthetic design, implemented on a versatile WordPress content management system (CMS). This setup empowers administrators to easily update the site periodically throughout the year.

Data visualisation

The Global CCS microsite was engineered to display extensive and intricate data effectively across various devices. It was optimized to showcase a range of visual representations, including maps, bar charts, and complex bubble charts. These visuals effectively illustrated the evolution of carbon capture and storage over a 30-year timeframe, ensuring that visitors could easily access and understand this comprehensive data
